About Us

  Our company is a family owned sports event business, which was originally based in Arlington,Texas under the name  Universal  Sports Agency or U.S.A. Since our inception in 1994, we have been able to create youth and adult sports environments that service all people.

  In 2011 my wife's elderly father became terminally ill and we moved ourselves and our sports business to the Mt Pleasant, Michigan area, where because of our previous successes in the southern states, we were asked and contracted to work several basketball events at venues like Central Michigan University, Morey Courts, and multiple well respected area high school summer league basketball programs in that area. In 2019 after circumstances changed we moved from Frankfort, Michigan to the Kalamazoo/Portage area of Michigan where we now reside and own a successful apartment cleaning and painting service .

  Both owners are former athletes, coaches and sports officials with a minimum of over 40 years of sports industry participation between them.Their combined years of active sports involvement brings a body of knowledge and experience to our company which is paralleled by only a select few in the sports event industry.

  We pray our youth sports outreach program, AMATEUR SPORTS AUTHORITY or A.S.A. Michigan  will be our most successful youth sports outreach program to date.

​

  We  encourage independent travel teams of a variety of sport disciplines, to consider competing in our traditional youth sports environments. Which are designed to adhere to the original concepts and practices put forth by the founders of the American youth sports industry. Such things as, positive behavior on and off the courts or fields, a mutual respect for your opponents, as well as your opponents fans, coaches and the sports officials.

  We also urge all fans, players, coaches and staff to keep in the forefront of their thoughts, that these are amateur sports events and all the participants deserve positive reinforcement just for showing up to compete in the event.

​

  Finally, in keeping standing with the original intent of the youth sports industry creators, who understood that positive character attributes like fairness, honesty, leadership, mutual respect, teamwork and unity could be fostered an even enhanced in a properly administered youth sports environments. It is in that light, that we offer to you our sports platform, Amateur Sports Authority.

 Our A.S.A. teams are formed using volunteer coaches. Team expenses are handled by each individual team with assistance from A Step Up Sports. All A.S.A. teams, adults or youth wear our  BLIZZARD  sports team logo. If you already have a  sports team or are thinking of starting one we can help make a good experience a positive exciting meaningful one. Play your teams in our leagues and tournaments or even build your own team with our help.

 Either way, join the Youth Sports Revival. Be in charge of your child's athletic future.

  We began developing our unique one day tournament system in 1994 and still use that system today to generate capital for our sports outreach programs. Through the years we have managed a variety of sports events from basketball tournaments, to rodeos, to cook-offs and just about every other type of event in between. Through it all,our mission has stayed the same as it was from day one. That being, to connect sports leagues, sports networks, private business, organizations and citizens who recognize the significance of involving our youth in amateur sports; with as many like-minded  parents and children as humanly possible. Help us guide our children and grandchildren in to being the leaders of tomorrow, by volunteering today, to be a team coach or team parent. If it helps, you can even  make a little extra cash by working one of the many behind the scene staff positions that exist in every type of sports endeavor.
